cash-physical-therapy-tomal-fry-co-uk.jpgMy Grandpa, Melvin Drake, M.D. always said, “Be careful who you choose as friends because the dirt rubs off but the clean doesn’t”.

If the two Olympians that I had the pleasure of being with today “rub off” on me I will be much healthier.

Now I know that fitness doesn’t just “rub off” on a couch potato passively but Olympian Gea Johnson (www.geajohnson.com) is a great example.

gea-johnson.jpgYou might think that a 2002 bobsleigh US Olympian would be all brawn with no uh…. but this isn’t the case. She graduated with a 4.0 from ASU and it wasn’t a degree in underwater basket weaving!

A Summa Cum Laude graduate such as she could legitimately think that she had no need for a trainer because she knows how her body works by now and doesn’t have to be told. She KNOWS the value of a good trainer and pays a good price for the same.

sheridon-baptiste.jpgMeet Sheridan. When I first met Sheridon Baptiste (also an olympian) all I knew was that he had a good bass voice in the choir. He is “the man”.

He practices what he preaches and is genuinely motivating and skilled. Now if you want to join that health club it’s not a health club - it’s all one on one.

That makes it work for clients. That’s the way to be at your best level of performance whether it’s getting a gold medal or winning the gold to pay for your kids’ college.

I had a great time with these olympians today. They are so motivated! Yep. I think they did rub off on me. I came home this evening and did a one mile fast-walking test in 12.16 minutes and ran my pulse rate right up to the maximum. I still feel pretty good and know I can continue. Whatever your positive goal is I’m rooting for you.

In a later post MAYBE I’ll be able so show you some of the workouts I saw today. Cool!

All the best,

Lance
